This is a very good review guide, which would ideally support the reader in preparing for the SY0-301 exam. The book is organized to allow focus on specific, key information security topics and at the end of each chapter the review questions allow the reader to ascertain the extent of the knowledge they have just gained.

I found the content of this book to be accurate and useful, as well as up to date with the latest changes in technology with references to current resources and technologies. The book therefore is ideal for a time-served information security practitioner wanting to keep their knowledge current or someone new to the field of information security that is preparing to take the SY0-301 exam.

The book does engage the reader and through its logical structure and use of diagrams and highlighting of exam essentials, it keeps the reader interested. The book also contains very good illustrations that break up the text nicely and allow the reader to understand the topics being explained.

I would definitely consider this book to be value for money and would definitely recommend it to people planning to undertake the SY0-301 Exam.

Also contained with this package is a CD containing flash cards and practice assessments that fully prepare you for the SY0-301 Exam. However, these are also useful as a knowledge refresher when putting information security into practice in the work environment.

The book contains real-word examples that allow the reader to fully relate to the content and translate it to work-based experiences or standard architectures.

Closing Summary

This book is an ideal resource for those looking to move into a security role and take the associated SY0-301 exam or for those established security professionals looking to refresh their knowledge. The numerous references to external resources and the accompanying CD mean this book remains valuable even after the exam.
